This Course is over 50% subsidised for young people from clubs who are members of SCYP

If you are aged 14 to 19, involved in the running of your club or youth project, and have had some leadership experience and/or training then this residential could be just what you are looking for.

The course will increase your knowledge and understanding in numerous areas, including communication, decision making and working as a team. These newly acquired leadership skills will help make your club work more efficient and enjoyable for both you and the club members.

You will be given the chance to meet new friends, learn new skills and participate in a range of challenges. You will discover more about yourself and others, which is an important part of becoming an effective leader.

The aim of the course is to offer young people from the Sussex Clubs for Young People network the opportunity to examine leadership in both theory and practice and developing their leadership potential using experiential learning

During the course participants will:

  • Examine leadership theories and styles
  • Identify their own leadership qualities
  • Experience teamwork and leadership in practical situations
  • Work closely with other young people to create a positive learning environment
  • Explore a number of review and feedback exercises, drawing on practical experiences
  • Further their own personal development and identify areas for continued development

A range of outdoor learning opportunities will be provided to develop knowledge and understanding in the above areas. Practical opportunities will be complimented with discussion to review learning and insight gained.
